Right, well. After playing around with the scanner at the weekend, Dan and I have spent the afternoon trying out a couple of ideas along the line of poster development. So here's the original scans:
These two were keeping in with the theme of hands, and trying to get across a feeling of desperation or anguish. We then had the idea of adding in scissors as a prop, to symbolise the 'cut' in the main character and his two alter-egos.
Seeing as Dan is the main character in the trailer though, we thought we could use his face in the pictures too... The general feel is still the idea of being trapped, though these scans are almost reflective. The open palms also suggests, to me at least, a sort of childishness - like palms against a window - looking out to the big wide world from somewhere within? An open palm also carries the connotation of surrendering, or vulnerability.
I really love the top scissors one. I like the sort of mist effect surrounding it. The top one of Dan looks a bit like he is drowning, and the second to last looks as if a car has braked too hard and he is squashed against the window. The bottom one is the best I think. His breath on the screen leaves a nice effect
